Lake Oconee - May 4, 2013

Yet another windy and rainy tournament this past Saturday.  Nine teams entered despite the weather.  Water temps ranged from low 60's to mid 70's.  Water clarity ranged from clear to light stain.  Both arms of the lake had some spawning fish remaining in the shallows, but most of them had moved back off the banks to deeper water.  Docks, natural wood structure, and man made structure were the primary areas holding larger fish and better numbers of fish.  Fifty fish were weighed in averaging .89 lbs.  No 2 lbs. fish were weighed in during the tournament.

Congrats to Paul Johnson and Greg Hanson for landing the largest 7 fish stringer at 8.15 lbs.  They fished the Lick Creek area hitting multiple types of structure.

Ricky Willis and Troy Thiel took 2nd place with a stringer weighing 7.94 lbs. by shooting docks.

Third place went to Tim Werkin and Dan Sidle 7.18 lbs. and also caught the overall Big Fish with a 1.71 lbs. slab.

4th was Jonathan Stanton and Darrell Henderson with 5.75 lbs, followed by Ron and Pat Wallace with 4.80 lbs for 5th.

Thank you to Sav-A-Lot BP for being great hosts.  Also a big thank you to Jiffy Jigs, EZT Pole Perch, Ocmulgee Timber, and Five Star Automotive Group.
